Hilary

Nursery Manager & Forest School Practitioner – BA (Hons) EYP
I have been working in Early Years Education since 2000.  I used to help out as a mum at my own children’s nursery and really enjoyed it. So when an opening became available, I jumped at the opportunity. Initially qualifying with my Level 3 in 2004, I went on to study for an Early Years Degree, which I achieved in July 2008. I also have Early Years Professional Status (2010) and continue to update my knowledge now having additional qualifications in both Creativity and Speech and Language Support , I am also a level 3 Forest School practitioner. I became the Manager of St Michael’s in September 2008, and still consider myself lucky to be working in such a fantastic environment with a supportive team of colleagues and parents. I’m a farmer’s daughter so have a natural love of the outdoors and I’m delighted we have our own nursery chickens! I have two dogs, who are my babies now that my own children have both left school, and I quite enjoy a bit of boxercise!

Jennie

I Joined St. Michael’s in 2014 as a parent helper after running a parent/toddler group in Mickleham. Soon after I began studying towards the CACHE Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification, which I completed in June 2016. After working in admin and marketing for many years I have thoroughly enjoyed my change of direction!I have three children – Maddie, Jasper and Leo – who have all previously attended St Michael’s. I enjoy walking, singing and have a lifelong love of reading.

Charlotte

I joined the team at St Michael’s in summer 2018. I qualified as a teacher in 2012 and since then have taught children at a specialist speech and language school. I am married to Tim and we currently have two boys.  When I have spare time I love a good book! I also enjoy yoga and getting out in nature.

Elaine

Nursery Practitioner/1:1 support worker – Level 3
I am married, have four children and five grandchildren. It’s through my children that I started to work in my local nursery school. Enjoying this role, I decided to train further and completed my NVQ level 3 in Childcare.  It was through one of my assignments focusing on Special Educational Needs, that I decided to gain more experience in this area and have been working with children with special needs in a specialist school in Reigate. I’m  now delighted to be able to share the knowledge and experience I gained with my colleagues at St. Michael’s and to support children in the setting.  In my free time I enjoy the outdoors, crafts and playing with my grandchildren.

Gemma

Nursery Practitioner – Level 3
During the later stages of my policing career I realised I enjoyed helping others learn. When my son Ben started at St Michael’s I started volunteering in the nursery and wondered how I could change careers. I decided after nearly 20 years I was going to leave the Met and in early 2019 was given the opportunity to cover staff absences and joined the team. I am delighted to now be qualified and able to develop my knowledge and share my enthusiasm as a permanent member of the team. My husband and son have supported me in this career change and also in reigniting my love of horse riding.

Georgie

Nursery Practitioner – Level 3
I have worked in various Early Years settings for over 20 years. I qualified with my level 3 in childcare in 1998. I joined St Michael’s Community Nursery in September 2019. It was an exciting opportunity, the setting really inspired me as I have a passion for outside learning. I have five children myself which keep me very busy. When I do have spare time I enjoy reading, listening to music, swimming and family days out.

Hollie

Nursery Practitioner
I joined St.Michael’s in 2019 after my youngest started school.  Both my children went to the nursery and I loved being a happy helper whenever I could. So, when the opportunity arose to work for Hilary, I didn’t hesitate! For years I helped out with children’s summer activity camps and have thoroughly enjoyed organising the children’s craft workshops at the school. I love arts and crafts, gardening, camping, skiing, dancing and spending time with my family.

Lizzie

Nursery Practitioner – Level 3 and Trainee Forest School Practitioner
I began volunteering as a committee member when my daughter Chloe started at St Michael’s in 2017, and I loved being part of the workings behind the scene. My youngest daughter Eleanor started in 2019 and I began working as a Nursery Practitioner in October 2019. I have worked in childcare since 2008, as a nursery nurse and sole charge nanny, qualifying with my CACHE Level 3 NVQ in Children’s Care Learning and Development in 2010. I am currently working towards my Level 3 Forest School Leaders qualification. I love gardening and being outdoors. I have enjoyed coordinating the Dorking Children’s Allotment and with the help of some very friendly families we are developing it into a space for parents/carers and children to play, learn and grow.

Louise

Nursery Practitioner
I joined St Michael’s in September 2019. My youngest daughter attended the nursery and we both fell in love with it, so when the opportunity arose I was delighted to be able to join the wonderful team. I have two daughters and in our spare time we enjoy walks with our dog Eva, family days out and catching up with friends and family.

Natacha

Nursery Practitioner – MA (Hons) PGCE QTS
I trained as a teacher in 2013 and then taught from Reception to Year 2 in two local Dorking schools. I am passionate about play based learning that develops the whole child (which St Michael’s is excellent at!). I am married to Oli and we have two children, Florence and Rupert. I love playing with my children and also cooking, baking, reading and being outside. We go to church in Dorking where Oli is training to be a vicar.

Tiffany

Nursery Practitioner
I have always had a love of working with children of any age and a particular passion for the Early Years. I enjoy watching children develop socially and emotionally, supporting their emerging confidence and building open and trusting relationships with both the children and their parents. My own daughter attended St. Michael’s Community Nursery and I’m so pleased to be part of the team here. In my non-nursery time, I enjoy running and I am also a qualified tennis coach.
